St Paul, VA--12'x18' Track Plan

Scale: HO
Minimum Radius: 30"
Minimum Aisle Width: 50"
Designed by Dan Bourque

This trackplan is like its big 20' x 20' brother in terms of operation, but it is compressed into a smaller area, about half of a two-car garage.  To learn about operations, see the first St Paul trackplan (click here).   The only operational element given up in the compression is the Clinchfield yard at Boody.  For an operating session, interchange between the CRR and N&W would all have to take place at the N&W Boody yard.

Things I Like About this Plan:

- Great mainline operation in a small space
- Prototypical arrangement of the two wyes
- Three railroads can be operated (CRR, L&N, and N&W)
- Plenty of aisle space (as long as the car is out and the garage door is up)

Things I Don't Like About this Plan:

- St Paul is severely compressed from wye-to-wye
- Complicated double helix staging arrangement
